Roses, Dahlia & Gourds, 2021 was created during a late summer season when there is a cornucopia of harvest vegetables and fruit. The local market was bursting with beautiful shapes, texture, colour and taste. If you look closely, there is a little snail that snuck in on the dahlias and started munching on the nasturtiums. The brown and cream pottery is from a Dutch province called Friesland, where my parents were born.
