Foxglove & Fox Skull, 2022 was created as a commission for a long-time collector for her new home. I adhered to a limited colour palette with blue, ochre, white and black. The title comes from the inclusion of Fox-related items as a nod to the location of the new home. This approach was a departure for me as I’m used to being left to my own devices when it comes to colours, or types of flowers, or any part of the image-making. However, I have since done a few commissions and enjoy the aspect of collaboration and the creative restrictions. The pop of blue from the late-season delphiniums and the glow of the golden currants make my heart sing. Did you notice the velvety luna moth in the top left corner?
