"Dark Dahlia (Beppe)
Beppe is the word for grandmother in Frisian, the province in the Netherlands where my parents were born. This piece is a tribute to my maternal grandmother. The blue and white tea cups pieces were brought over from Holland when my grandparents immigrated to Canada in the 1950s and passed down to me. I treasure these fragile reminders of a previous generation. The soft pinks of the cosmos and the roses in the arrangement are the colours I still associate with my Beppe.
